Photos: Here Are the Piles of Used Bedding and Children’s Play Sets Left Near DOGE’s Old Offices

Elon Musk’s team linked to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have started moving out of their base at the General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, DC. What remains is a chaotic sight of children’s toys and bedding left behind.

In areas once occupied by DOGE, abandoned kids’ playthings like a wooden kitchen set, a rainbow climbing arch, and an easel with crumpled papers can be seen. Colorful books and toys are neatly arranged in bins, while some items are scattered on the floor. Trash bags filled with pillows and mattresses are shoved into a corner nearby.

The scene resembles something from a horror movie where inhabitants had to escape hastily to avoid danger. This isn’t fiction; it’s the aftermath of DOGE’s aggressive actions at the GSA and the broader federal government under Musk’s leadership. While DOGE continues in a different form after Musk’s departure, the children’s playthings have been left neglected.

Requests for comments from GSA were not promptly answered.

Following President Trump’s inauguration in January, Musk’s DOGE gained control over crucial government agencies that opened doors to numerous others. Key figures like Steve Davis, Nicole Hollander, and Thomas Shedd were among those who assumed high positions at GSA under DOGE. The workspace was transformed to include security measures like locked doors and key card access.

Recently, there have been sightings of remaining DOGE members Nate Cavanaugh and Justin Fox within the GSA premises. Despite changes in leadership, reports suggest that DOGE still holds influence across various government projects and contracts.
