Adobe has introduced a new AI Assistant for Photoshop today, which enables designers and creative professionals to automate repetitive tasks. The AI assistant, powered by agentic AI, can carry out creative tasks, offer personalized suggestions, and deliver tutorials.
This AI Assistant is expanding to Adobe Express, the cloud-based design tool offered by Adobe. By using both Photoshop and Express, users can make use of conversation-based creation and editing features. Adobe claims that switching between conversational creation and hands-on editing is seamless with access to manual tools.
Several other AI tools are being integrated into Photoshop, such as Generative Upscale and Generative Fill alongside partner models. Generative Fill works in conjunction with Gemini 2.5 Flash, Black Forest Labs LUX.1 Kontext, and Firefly Image Models to eliminate or adjust content based on text prompts. A new functionality called Harmonize can merge individuals or objects into new settings by aligning light, color, and tone for natural outcomes.
Harmonize, Generative Fill, and Generative Upscale with partner model access are now available. The Photoshop AI Assistant is accessible through a private beta waitlist. The Adobe Express AI Assistant is exclusive to Adobe Express Premium subscribers.
