Digital notebooks are becoming more capable as manufacturers add AI directly to devices designed for students, classrooms and meetings.

A recent comparison with the Boox Go 10.3 Gen II illustrates two different directions for digital note-taking.

Boox emphasizes an E Ink writing experience closer to traditional paper, while TCL adds a faster color display and a heavier layer of AI assistance, including transcription, summarization and search capabilities. (Android Central)

That means the notebook students carry into class is beginning to do more than record what they write.

It can increasingly help decide what information is important.

WHY IT MATTERS

Taking notes has traditionally been part of the learning process.

Students listen, determine what matters, write it down and later organize those ideas themselves.
