Amazon is letting sellers connect their live businesses directly to AI assistants like Claude and Amazon Quick — giving AI access to inventory, sales and listings and allowing it to take approved actions without the seller opening Seller Central.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Amazon has launched a new Selling Partner plugin that connects seller accounts directly to Anthropic’s Claude and Amazon Quick.
Sellers can use the AI assistant to check inventory, review sales, adjust prices and update listings.
Amazon says the goal is simple: sellers should not have to keep going back into Seller Central to run routine parts of their business.
The plugin is currently in beta in the U.S., with more integrations planned.
WHY IT MATTERS
This moves AI from answering business questions to operating parts of the business itself.
Seller Assistant can also retain information about pricing patterns, inventory needs and business goals.
Background workflows can monitor things like stock levels, competitive pricing and account health even when the seller is not actively using the system.
Actions still require seller permission.
WHO BENEFITS
Independent sellers could spend less time moving between dashboards and manually checking routine business data.
Amazon says Seller Assistant already has more than 230,000 monthly users, and sellers accept its recommended actions more than 90% of the time.
WHO LOSES
Traditional seller-management software could face more competition if merchants increasingly operate their businesses through AI assistants instead of separate dashboards.
Sellers may also become more dependent on whichever AI platforms Amazon allows to connect to its marketplace.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Amazon says additional AI integrations are coming.
The bigger shift is already clear:
The AI assistant is becoming more than a place to ask questions.
It is becoming a control layer for the business itself.
