During an all-hands meeting following Nvidia’s record earnings report, CEO Jensen Huang expressed his strong belief that employees should embrace the use of artificial intelligence in their tasks without fearing job displacement. He criticized managers who discouraged AI usage and emphasized that every feasible task should be automated with AI. Huang assured employees that there would always be work available, even with increased AI integration.
Other tech giants like Microsoft, Meta, and Google have also encouraged employees to incorporate AI into their daily work routines. Huang highlighted that Nvidia’s software engineers utilize Cursor and advised persistence in using AI until it proves effective for specific tasks. Despite concerns about job security due to AI advancements, Huang reassured Nvidia staff by pointing out the company’s continuous hiring efforts and expansion, which have led to a significant increase in the number of employees.
Nvidia has been rapidly growing its workforce and physical presence, including opening new offices in Taipei and Shanghai and developing two more sites in the US. The company’s market value has surpassed $4 trillion, making it one of the most valuable companies globally. In the last quarter, Nvidia reported a revenue of $57.01 billion, marking a substantial increase from the previous year.
Despite skepticism from investors like Michael Burry regarding the AI industry’s sustainability, Nvidia defended its position in a memo to Wall Street analysts.
