Google is set to reveal its upcoming Pixel 10 smartphones at an event on August 20, with indications suggesting that the devices will incorporate a charging feature similar to MagSafe without the need for a case. The Verge noted that Evan Blass (@evleaks), a reliable source for leaked information, recently shared what seems to be a promotional image of the Pixel 10 showing a magnetic wireless charger attached directly to the device’s back. This charger bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s MagSafe Charger designed for iPhones, which aligns with the speculation that Google’s Pixel 10 will support Qi2, a standard that includes elements of Apple’s MagSafe technology. Blass has a history of accurate leaks, particularly related to Android devices, and occasionally Apple products as well. For instance, in 2020, he disclosed images of the iPhone 12 and HomePod mini shortly before Apple officially unveiled them. Notably, Apple introduced MagSafe with its iPhone 12 lineup in 2020, placing Google five years behind in adopting this technology.
