We were given a special preview of the presentation deck they used to secure this new investment.

London-headquartered Artificial Societies, a participant in Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 cohort, has secured $5.35 million in initial funding. Established in 2024, the startup has built a platform that generates AI personas to assist businesses in evaluating how their products, marketing strategies, branding, and other content might be perceived.

James He, the co-founder and CEO, explained to Business Insider that their approach involves AI agents engaging in conversations to replicate human interactions. He elaborated on how they aim to model an artificial society’s responses to various stimuli, whether it be a marketing message or a product proposal, and provide detailed analysis for their clients.

The company offers its market research services to both individual customers and enterprises.

He expressed that there are future opportunities for the startup to apply its technology to policymaking endeavors.

He mentioned that despite the challenges faced as first-time entrepreneurs in securing funding, they leveraged their own technology to simulate the investment process. This preparation allowed them to effectively position their startup during presentations to venture capitalists.

The seed funding round of $3.35 million was spearheaded by Point72 Ventures. Additionally, the company raised $2 million from investors associated with Google DeepMind, Strava, and Sequoia Scout, bringing the total investment amount to $5.35 million.

With this fresh injection of funds, Artificial Societies intends to enhance its research team focusing on its simulation engine and intensify its marketing efforts.
