Lingverse is trying to separate personal AI from the device that contains it. Its iKairos “Neural Core” can move from a desktop robot to a wearable pendant while carrying the same memory and context with it.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Singapore-based Lingverse unveiled iKairos and its LifeOS operating system at IFA 2026.
iKairos centers on a removable circular AI module the company calls a Neural Core.
At launch, that core sits inside a small desktop robot. Users can remove it and place it into a necklace, giving the same AI a different physical perspective while maintaining what it has learned about the user.
WHY IT MATTERS
Most personal AI is tied to one device.
Your phone knows one part of your life.
A wearable sees another.
A home robot sees something else.
Lingverse’s idea is different:
Keep the intelligence and memory consistent while changing the body around it.
LifeOS is designed to combine observations about routines, preferences, surroundings and interactions so the AI can build longer-term context instead of starting from scratch every time the hardware changes.
WHO BENEFITS
Users could eventually carry one personalized AI across different devices instead of maintaining separate assistants on their phone, wearable and home robot.
Robot and hardware manufacturers could also build devices around a portable intelligence layer rather than creating a completely separate AI identity for every product.
WHO LOSES
Device makers that depend on keeping users locked inside one hardware ecosystem could face pressure if personal AI becomes portable.
The approach also raises privacy questions because a system designed to understand routines and relationships must collect significant amounts of personal context.
Lingverse says iKairos includes a physical camera shutter, privacy indicator, mute button, encryption and user-controlled data retention, and says personal data will not be used to train its underlying model. Those protections remain company claims until the product is broadly available and independently tested.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
iKairos is still an early-stage product.
Lingverse has not announced a final price or firm shipping date, although a waitlist is open.
The bigger idea is what matters:
Personal AI may eventually stop belonging to a device.
The device could simply become the body your AI happens to be using at that moment.
